Launch in the right place without getting banned

Launch day is Tuesday. You have a list of ten subreddits from memory, no idea which allow self-promo, and one ban already on your account from last time.

Free plan: 10 requests a day, no card.

How it goes today

An evening of tabs.

  • Ten subreddits from memory. Open each one, find the rules in the sidebar, or the wiki, or a pinned post from 2021.
  • Guess whether "no self-promotion" applies to a free tool with a GitHub link. Post anyway.
  • Removed in four minutes, one warning from a mod, and a launch day spent apologising.
With Reddibee

Three prompts.

  • One prompt returns the communities that match your product, with member counts and a plain-language rules summary.
  • A promo flag per community: welcomed, restricted to a day or a thread, or banned. With the rule quoted.
  • Your agent drafts a post per community that follows each one’s rules, and knows which ones to skip.
Walkthrough

A real session, prompt by prompt.

Each step is one request. The whole session fits inside a Free day.

  1. 1

Find the communities that would care

Relevance and permission in one list. You stop guessing which subs exist and which will remove you.

    You

Which communities would care about a Postmark alternative, and which of them allow launch posts?

    Comes back

Eight communities ranked by relevance. For each: members, posts per day, a two-line rules summary, and a promo flag. Three welcome launches, four allow them on a schedule, one bans them outright.

  2. 2

    Read the rules that matter

The difference between welcome and banned is usually a day of the week or where the link goes. That is what gets posts removed.

    You

For the four restricted ones, quote the exact rule and tell me the day or thread where launches are allowed.

    Comes back

r/SaaS: Saturday self-promo thread only. r/webdev: Showoff Saturday. r/Entrepreneur: no links in the post body, links in comments are fine. r/startups: Share Your Startup thread, pinned weekly.

  3. 3

See how the last launches went

The community tells you the format it rewards. Copy the shape of what worked there, not what worked on Product Hunt.

    You

Show me the last five launch posts in r/selfhosted for email tools. What did the comments say?

    Comes back

Five posts with scores and comment summaries. The two that did well shared pricing and a self-host guide up front. The two removed ones led with a marketing headline.

  4. 4

    Draft per community

One post for all eight subs reads as spam in seven of them. Fitting each one is the whole job, and it is now a paragraph of your time.

    You

Draft a launch post for each community that welcomes one, following its rules and the format that did well there.

    Comes back

Three drafts, each with the rule it obeys noted at the top, and a schedule for the four restricted ones. Nothing is posted. You copy what you like.

Reading the answer

What the numbers mean.

You ask
Which communities would care about a Postmark alternative, and which of them allow launch posts?
You get
Eight matching communities. Three welcome launch posts outright, four allow them on a schedule, one bans them. Plus the Product Hunt launches in your category from the last 30 days and how their comments went.

Restricted is usually good news

A weekly self-promo thread means the community has decided launches are welcome, on its terms. Those threads have a smaller audience but a much friendlier one. Banned means banned. Do not test it.

Read the rule, not the flag

The promo flag is a summary. The quoted rule is the truth. "No self-promotion" in one sub means no links ever; in another it means not more than one post in ten. The quote is always included so you can judge.

Recent removals are the real rulebook

Rules pages age. What moderators removed last month does not. When the recent launch posts in a sub all got pulled, treat that sub as banned whatever the sidebar says.

Ask for the rules summary in the same call. Your agent will draft a post that fits each community instead of one post for all.

Under the hood

The tools your agent picks.

You never call these by name. The agent reads the prompt and chooses. Listed so you know what is happening.

find_communities
Ranks communities for a product or topic with size, activity, a rules summary and a promo-tolerance flag.
subreddit_rules
Returns the full rules of one community, with the self-promotion and link rules quoted verbatim.
community_pulse
What a community talked about recently, including how launch and show-off posts scored and what their comments said.
launch_pulse
Product Hunt launches in a category over a window, with upvotes and a summary of the comment reception.
Prompts to steal

Copy, swap the brackets, paste into your agent.

  • Which communities would care about [product], and which of them allow launch posts?

  • Quote the self-promotion rule for r/[sub] and tell me exactly when and how a launch post is allowed.

  • Show me the last five launch or Show-off posts in r/[sub] for [category]. Which did well and why?

  • Rank these communities by how friendly they are to a first post from a new account: [list].

  • Which Product Hunt launches in [category] in the last 30 days got the most comments, and what did people push back on?

  • Draft a launch post for r/[sub] that follows its rules and the format that did well there. Do not post it.

Where it falls short

Honest limits.

  • Rules are read from the community’s own rules page and recent moderation, not from private mod policy. A sub can still remove you for reasons it never wrote down.
  • Reddibee never posts. The drafts are yours to copy. That is a guardrail, not a missing feature.
  • Karma and account age requirements are often unwritten. If your account is new, expect friction the rules do not mention.
Questions

Asked before the first request.

Will Reddibee post for me?

No, and it never will. Every tool is read-only. It finds the communities, reads the rules, and drafts. You press the button.

How current are the rules?

Rules are refreshed when a community is polled, and the recent-post check tells you what moderators actually removed. Between the two you are rarely more than a day out of date.

Does this work for Hacker News and Product Hunt?

Yes. Show HN has its own conventions, which the agent knows, and the Product Hunt check shows how recent launches in your category were received.

How many requests is a launch plan?

Communities, rules, recent posts, drafts: four requests. Well inside a Free day.

10 requests a day, free. No card.
